The Silent Hero Project has had a tremendous impact on my understanding and knowledge of American History and World War II. Over the course of research I have learned a lot of things like how hard it is for a soldier to sacrifice everything for others. And it takes courage and determination to do that. If I had a chance to talk to William Conrad, I would start by thanking him for everything they do. And ask him what he would have done if he was still alive. And also ask him if he regrets any decision he made. The most helpful source was the IDPF file. It provided me with several details about him and his family after he died. This project has definitely redefined gratitude for me. I give my gratitude to William Conrad for his bravery fighting in the war for freedom.
